 Junior Convention 2007

As we enter the final quarter of 2007, CJC would like to announce a new opportunity for juniors to shape the future of the organization. As you know, the annual Senior Convention is the highest legislative body of the AYF. Each year, delegates from every chapter meet for four days to review the previous year, elect a new central executive, and set goals and by-laws for the year to come. Beginning this year, CJC would like to give a similar voice to the juniors.

The first ever Junior Conventions will take place in each district, with each chapter sending a delegation based on their size to review 2007 and shape 2008. Together with CJC and the junior advisors, the juniors will present their year-end reports, draft and vote on resolutions for the coming year (those that pass will be presented at Senior Convention for approval in December). The events of the year – Winter Olympics, Junior Educational weekend, even Junior Seminar – will be reviewed and critiqued by AYF juniors.

The Central Junior Council believes the time has come to give Juniors more of a voice in the AYF. As heirs to the future of the organization, it is fitting that you have some say in what shape that future will take. CJC is eager to hear the ideas and discussions which arise from these unique gatherings.
