The AYF-YOARF Eastern Region recently announced the release of its 2009 AYF wall calendar themed "Back to our Roots." The calendar is in Armenian and English with pictures ranging from its Annual AYF Junior Seminar, AYF Olympic Games as well as images of Artsakh fedayees, the region of Javakhk, and months themes such as ARF intellectuals and the Armenian language.

This year the project was assigned to the New York Hyortik chapter who as part of the design incorporated an inspirational quote by an Armenian fedayee or intellectual. The final page also contains a complete list of all significant Armenian historical events by month, date and year. “This year the Central Executive felt it was important that our community know the work of the AYF and be inspired month to month by the rich history of the Armenian nation,” said AYF Central Executive member Jim Kzirian.
